The 5th Annual Culture Show!
The Iranian Student Group @ UCLA Proudly Presents:
The 5th Annual Iranian Culture Show
For its fifth year in a row, the Iranian Student Group presents the annual Iranian Culture Show at UCLA. Beginning five years ago with 15 people, it has now grown to more than 70 participants! Last year, we brought in more than 1000 people for two nights.
The show offers traditional and modern Iranian dances, musical acts, and its popular skit, which presents a variety of problems Iranian-Americans face in today's ever-changing society. Therefore, the purpose is two-fold: to educate the UCLA and greater Los Angeles communities about the rich and diverse Iranian culture, and present you with an entertaining show you'll never forget!

June 1, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Doors open at 7pm
WHERE:
Ralph Freud Playhouse
MacGowan Hall, UCLA Campus

Tickets are free! Tickets will be available May 24th at CTO (Central Ticketing Office) on the UCLA Campus. Contact Rakhsita Satyarthi at rakhsita@ucla.edu if you have any questions regarding ticketing.
If you would like to sponsor the Culture Show, please call Shirin at (858) 945 7119 or email shirin.oloumi@gmail.com. With the cost of venues, costumes, lighting, and advertising on the rise, it becomes ever more critical to ask the community for help in funding our show.
Please direct any general questions or comments to Shirin Oloumi (Culture Chair) at shirin.oloumi@gmail.com.
ISG and PACI Fashion Show - April 20th, 2007
We still need models and crew workers and sponsors!!
Attention all Students and Alumni. The Iranian Student Group at UCLA is officially putting on its first Fashion Show! This Fashion Show is a Fundraiser for the Persian American Cancer Institute (PACI) that was established by Mrs. Hoori Sadler, the same woman who created UMMA. We as a student group wanted to do something to show her and PACI our support. The Fashion Show will be held on April 20th in Ackerman Grand Ballroom. We will showcase two (three) big names in the fashion industry: Hushadir Mortezai of Michael and Hushi, Shahla Dorriz, and Nima Behnoud of NIMANY. We will also be showing the works of two (one) student designer(s).
However, we need YOUR help. Because to be able to make this event a success we need MODELS! We wanted to make this strictly a student run show, so we want all the models to be students. All girls 5'7'' and taller are welcome to come to the casting call on January 18th in the Verizon Conference Room #2 at 8 pm - 11 pm to be sized and considered for the runway. If you are chosen there will be training as well as dress rehearsals involved. Participants do NOT have to be UCLA students, all participants are welcome.
This is a GREAT opportunity to break into the business as well as to support an amazing cause. All the proceeds will go to the Persian American Cancer Institute for Breast Cancer research and education.
All girls who are not 5'7'' or do not want to model are still welcome to come sign up for Crew work, because we will need LOTS of help backstage.
Please contact Yasi at 630 456 1838 or yasichehroudi@yahoo.com to volunteer for this opportunity. Also, we need sponsors...please contact Yasi as soon as possible.
